친구와 가족! Family and friends!   How are you guys? I dreaded this day for awhile but it was so fun. Still very hard, but we had some good laughs. My district decided to sit in this spot under the trees that we've never gone to before. There's probably a good reason for that. Everyone sat down but I stayed standing because I had a white skirt on. Someone said something about an ant but I felt safe because I was standing. I was not safe. I noticed them crawling onto my skirt and I tried to shake them off. They started getting in my socks and biting my ankles. I started flicking them off and we all moved to the tables. Sisters from my district helped get the ants off that I couldn't see. Still not sure why they didn't attack anyone else.  TUESD...

  친구와 가족! Friends and family! ALSO I would love to get letters from you guys! I'll add the address at the end. SUNDAY we had a cool "go and do experience". You essentially pick a question you have about life and ponder it for  awhile. Use your resources to find an answer for yourself or just learn more about it. We had talked a lot about the  quote "all that is unfair about life can be made right through the atonement of Jesus Christ". I thought about it for awhile.  I remember feeling like life is unfair, especially with siblings, and other things going on in the world. And somtimes  you start to sit and wonder what life would be like if it was fair.  If life was fair, every single one of us would be on a cross. The only one who wouldn't be, is Jesus Christ.  What a blessing it is that life is unfair.  And that it can be made fair through Him.   친구와 가족! Friends and family! I've arrived at the MTC! Get settled because we will be here til July 9th.  WEDNESDAY my family and I went to the airport and said our goodbyes. Walking through security I felt so alone. No one else was wearing a name tag. No one else understood what it was. I found myself wanting to hide it a bit, I didn't want anyone to ask about it. I wasn't ready to explain it. I remember saying a very sincere quick prayer as I left security, "Heavenly Father please help me find someone I can bless, or someone who can bless me." I made it to my gate and it was pretty full. I walked around for a bit trying to find a seat. I decided on one and walked down the row and sat. Shortly after, an elderly lady sitting a few chairs down from me leans over and says very quietly, "Sister?" I looked over and said "Yes?"  Let me tell you, being called Sister or Sister Olsen has been pretty uncomfortable. It's not something I'm used to...

  친구와 가족! Friends and family! It was my last full week before I go to the training center in Provo! A highlight of the week: MY BEST FRIEND CARLEE GOT HER MISSION CALL!!! It was so incredibly special to be a part of her mission call opening. She’s going to the Philadelphia Pennsylvania mission!!! (The Liberty Bell is there, how perfect is that) on the same day she found out her family friend was also called to that mission, and they start the same exact day!!! Definitely one of my favorite days of this whole year.  I am so grateful for this opportunity to be a missionary. This week has brought such an attitude of gratitude for opportunities I have had in life. Let me tell you, Korean is HARD. Roughly 5 hours of language study a day is HARD. Very humbling. Tears have been shed, vocab has been added to, sentences are always attempted, grammar forms are noted daily, blank stares are given to the teachers, survival phrases are being memorized.  Learning so much in such a smal...

친구와 가족! Friends and family! My first week has been nothing short of entirely wonderful, hard times and all.  Let’s recap. Tuesday evening I was set apart as a full time missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I got to officially put my name tag on! Growing up I never thought I would be wearing one but wow am I so grateful I chose to. It was so special to have my family with me during this moment of stepping into this new role. Wednesday was my first day! Woke up bright and early at 6:30 got ready and peacefully started studying before any classes began. I read Alma 30:44: “… The scriptures are laid before thee, yea, and all things denote there is a God; yea, even the earth, and all things that are upon the face of it, yea, and its motion, yea, and also all the planets which move in their regular form do witness that there is a Supreme Creator.” Let me tell you, there couldn’t have been a more perfect way to start this mission.
